Tucked behind the coastal streets of North Bondi, this home has been shaped into a calm, night-time retreat through thoughtful lighting work by Simon from Dlux Design, supported through his retail store Light Up Kingsford. With both design and product expertise handled under one roof, the lighting plan was able to bring out the best in the home’s structure and surrounding garden.
Inground uplighters were placed throughout the outdoor areas to lift the foliage and give the garden its depth. Taller trees are washed gently from below, while pots and low plantings receive more focused accents that pull the greenery forward. Each fitting has a clear purpose, creating layers that reveal themselves slowly as you move through the space.
Around the entrance and exterior walls, architectural wall lights provide clarity and guide movement between levels. These fittings highlight the home’s surfaces without overpowering the softer landscape lighting, keeping the balance between usability and atmosphere.
